Introduction
The Granary is a locally owned and operated restaurant that has been in existence for over 30 years. Our family has been running the restaurant for the past 16 years now, and it has been a pleasure to have the Granary as a part of our family and allow us to be a part of yours.
The Granary, housed in a century old building, reflects a warm comfortable atmosphere making everyone feel at home, from young children to respected seniors.
Our friendly and diligent staff will ensure that everyone finds themselves well received, served and able to leave with a fond experience.
We are dedicated to preparing quality in-house dishes from time-tested recipes. Our meals and sauces are prepared from scratch with quality ingredients. The schnitzels are trimmed, sliced and pounded from top-grade pork loins and then breaded per order. Our homemade desserts are delicious and not found anywhere else!
Our Building
The Granary occupies a building constructed about 1889. Known as the Goulet Building, it served as a store before being converted to a restaurant in 1985.
Most of the building's interior was replaced in the conversion, but the oak bannister and the spectacular pressed-tin ceiling were preserved, and still contribute old-time charm to the restaurant.
Environmental Concerns
At the Granary we are committed to being environmentally responsible. All plastics and papers are recycled, and all waste food is composted. Thanks to these efforts, we can proudly say we send just one bag of garbage per week to the landfill.
In addition to that, we are also trying to reduce environmentally harmful waste by using paper products such as straws, take-out containers, and bags wherever possible.
Local Artisans
Who among us does not have a little pride for there hometown? Well, we're no different! We are proud to be showcasing the paintings of local artists, Joyce Burkholder, Kathy Haycock, Linda Sorenson and Christine Peltzer on our walls as well as some great locally crafted beers from Square Timber and Whitewater breweries.
Allergies/Requests
Our active and busy kitchen works diligently and with pride to make your experience the best one possible. Our staff will work with you to try and accommodate any special requests/needs to the best of our abilities, however due to the nature of our cuisine we cannot completely guarantee allergen free products.
